Performs all custodial duties in the associated program area. Performs skilled motor vehicle operations. Operates vans or automobiles for transporting consumers, personnel, supplies, mail and other cargo. Work is performed according to prescribed rules, regulations and schedules. Compliance with written and verbal instructions while adhering to prescribed safety procedures is an integral part of the position. Maintains the upkeep of the company vehicles. Work is performed under the supervision of the Center Director.

High School Graduate or GED

Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. General knowledge of the operation, care and maintenance of housekeeping equipment\tools.
2. Working knowledge of safety practices employed in housekeeping tasks.
3. Must be able to work off ladders and lift\move objects up to 50 lbs in weight.
4. Knowledge of light motor vehicle operation and traffic rules\regulations.
5. Ability to follow schedules for pick-ups and deliveries.
6. Must be able to understand verbal\written instructions.

Essential Tasks and Standards

1. Maintain assigned floor space in a clean, attractive and obstruction free condition and will utilize only Camino Real approved tools, equipment and cleaning agents for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, orderly and safe Center environment for consumers, visitors and staff. This is completed when assigned floor space is clean, attractive and obstruction free at all times and when only approved tools/materials are used.
2. Cleans all wall, window, door, furniture and fixture surfaces and disposes contents of trash receptacles using only Camino Real tools, equipment, materials and cleaning agents for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, orderly and safe Center environment for consumers, visitors and staff. This is accomplished when surfaces are regularly maintained in a clean condition and when trash is regularly disposed of on a daily basis and when only approved tools/materials are used.
3. Cleans restrooms with attention given to hidden and/or hard to reach places where dirt and grime tend to build for the purpose of maintaining clean, attractive, infection free restroom facilities. This is accomplished when restrooms are in a clean, sanitary condition and in a pleasant appearance at all times.
4. Will report and advise the Center Director of building and equipment deterioration, disrepair and damages and will report repairs to the Center Director for the purpose of keeping the Center Director informed of the physical condition of the Center. This is accomplished when Center Director is apprised of deterioration, disrepair and damages on a regularly scheduled monthly basis and on an as-needed basis.
5. Will maintain a transportation schedule and provide safe transportation to center consumers in order to contribute to the optional delivery of services according to appointments scheduled by center staff.
6. Will maintain upkeep of all center vehicles for the purpose of maintaining the safety of Center consumers and staff and to prevent accidents

Marginal Tasks

- Disposes of all trash or debris found on grounds; sweeps and cleans walkways and Center entrances as needed for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and pleasant external Center environment. This is accomplished when grounds and walkways are clean, obstruction free and attractive on a regular bais.
- Stores and secures an adequate inventory of approved cleaning agents, tools and equipment without overstocking for the purpose of maintaining an adequate supply for keeping the Center in a sanitary, safe and attractive manner. This is completed when cleaning agents, tools, equipment and other necessary supplies are available as needed.
- Carries out other duties and related work as assigned when requested by Center Director to help assist in the proper functioning of the Center in meeting its stated purpose. This is completed when other duties are reported to and accepted as finished by Center Director.
- Will maintain and improve job-related skills and knowledge for the purpose of facilitating development of job-related skills and personal growth. Will attend all required/recommended training and meetings.
- Observes and discharges all rules policies, procedures/standards outlined in Camino Real policies and
procedures/community standards/Medicare/Medicaid as well as with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations for the purpose of providing services within applicable rules/policies/procedures/standards and laws. No failure in compliance with any such rules/policies/procedures/standards/laws/or other legally binding.
- Knows and complies with unit/division and safety program in order to contribute to a safe non-injurious environment for individuals, staff, and visitors. Will have zero (0) preventable accidents. Preventable will be determined by Safety Committee review process.
